Effects of Environmental Pollutants on the Male Reproductive System
Exposure to environmental pollutants has been related to adverse health conditions and their effects on gametes and reproductive organs. Furthermore, limited research was done to examine the relationship between air pollution and male reproductive outcomes, particularly the quality of semen. We carried out a systematic review (until September 2020) to determine the environmental and environmental impact. Occupational exposure of the quality of semen to environmental contamination. By searching the literature databases, epidemiological studies focusing on environmental contamination and male reproduction, PubMed, Medline, Google documents were found. Numerous research assessing the impact of environmental contaminants on key semen parameters (sperm concentration, motility, morphology), spermatogenesis, DNA fragmentation and semen toxicology (PM2.5, SO2, NOx, O3, Phalats, Cadmium, lead, Endocrine distrubing chemicals, electromagnetic pollution, temperature increase), To sum up, most studies have concluded that male fertility is impaired by indoor and outdoor emissions. The importance of the topic will be further revealed by cell culture and molecular studies.
