Virtual Integrated Development Environment for the Performance Analysis of Electric Vehicles

The goal of this chapter is to create a virtual simulation environment that can be used to analyse electric car performance. MATLAB/Simulink can be used to replace the electric vehicle’s major components or tweak their parameters for user convenience. Furthermore, the created simulation model can be simulated in real-time and put on a driving simulator so that the designer can see how performance changes as components or specifications are changed. The actual driver drives in various traffic conditions while using a driving simulator, resulting in various simulation results. As a result, designers can alter the specifications of the components utilised or the components themselves to see how they affect the performance of the electric car. By selecting components that are suited for electric vehicles’ needed performance, this procedure will reduce the time it takes to develop electric vehicles.
