A Perspective on an Interdisciplinary Approach to Education
Interdisciplinary learning is a process in which knowledge is not compartmentalised in such a way that it spans traditional disciplinary boundaries and, most importantly, allows learners to assess their own learning. A focused method is required to encourage learners to think divergently, laterally, and to apply conceptual thinking to the reality around them in order to better grasp multiple domains. Interaction between several subjects is what keeps things interesting for students. The current study provides two methods for implementing an interdisciplinary approach to teaching and learning. The offered tactics are systematic approaches to encouraging learners’ creativity, critical thinking, deep learning, and teamwork skills. This shift in focus and strategy is thus critical to the success of transdisciplinary and experiential learning.
