Multiple-input and multiple-output ( MIMO) technology can enhance the efficiency of transmission and bandwidth in wireless networks. Many upper layer aspects of MIMO links, however, need further study, especially in mobile networks with heterogeneous antennas and strong interference environments. We research its impact on medium access and network ability in this paper. Since MIMO connections can increase physical layer capacity and suppress co-channel interference by directly scheduling ects network access, we are designing a capacity-optimized access scheduling control (COASC) system with MIMO connections for mobile ad hoc networks ( MANETs). To boost the network capacity and transmission efficiency, we formulate the distributed scheduling taking the key of optimization into architecture. To demonstrate the e-effectiveness of the proposed method, simulation results are presented. To overcome the interference problem in fully distributed settings, a discrete stochastic approximation approach has been used. The results of the simulation show that MIMO connections obviously have an effect on network ability and COASC is an e-cient technique for leveraging the advantages of MIMO connections in MANETs.
