An Interactive Effect of English Intervention Programme and Medium of Instruction at School of Prospective Teachers on Their Attitude towards English
The interaction between an English language communication skills intervention program and the medium of instruction used in B.Ed. students’ schools on their attitudes toward English is investigated in this paper. As a result, a 40-hour intervention program focusing on English language communication skills for B.Ed. students has been established. A rating scale developed by the researcher was used to assess students’ attitudes toward English. To collect information about student-teachers’ medium of instruction at school, the researcher created a personal data sheet for B.Ed. students. In each of the experimental and control groups, there were 70 B.Ed. students. The experimental group received an intervention program, whereas the control group received none. The data was analyzed using ANCOVA. The educational approach was successful in changing the attitudes of B.Ed students toward English. The intervention program’s effect size on attitudes toward English language is 2.21, which is a large magnitude.
