Investigation on L-Histidinium Maleate 1.5-Hydrate Crystals for Nonlinear Frequency Conversion

August 21, 2021 Science and Technology 0

A novel amino acid organic nonlinear optical (NLO) material, L-histidinium maleate 1.5-hydrate (LHM), was produced from aqueous solution using a slow solvent evaporation process at ambient temperature. The compound’s solubility in aqueous solution was investigated at various temperatures. Single crystal XRD and powder XRD measurements were used to determine the structural arrangement of the generated crystal. Energy dispersive X-ray analysis validated the chemical composition of the formed crystal. examination (EDAX). UV–visible spectral analysis was used to determine the percentage of optical transmission by the generated crystal. Kurtz and Perry’s powder approach was used to observe the produced material’s nonlinear optical characteristics. HR-SEM analysis was used to examine the surface morphology of the formed crystal. Differential thermal analysis and differential scanning calorimetry were used to determine the thermal stability of the formed crystal.
