Music is one of the few activities that requires the use of both sides of the brain. It is ingrained in all cultures and can provide unexpected benefits not just in terms of language acquisition, memory enhancement, and attention concentrating, but also in terms of physical coordination and growth. It also works as a pain reliever, blood pressure reducer, heart medicine, stroke medicine, alzheimer’s medicine, autism medicine, post-stroke recovery medicine, chronic headaches treatment, and migraine treatment. Music strengthens the immune system and improves intelligence, learning, and IQ. Concentration, athletic performance, bodily mobility and coordination, productivity, tiredness fighter, mood, and depression are all improved by music. Relaxing music promotes sleep, relieves stress, and promotes relaxation. Music can help us manage undesirable characteristics of our personalities such as worry, bias, and wrath. Of course, music can be distracting if it’s excessively loud or jarring, or if it competes with what we’re trying to do for our attention. However, most people benefit from exposure to many types of music.
