Numerical Investigation on Vibro-acoustic Responses of a Satellite

 Currently, either the highly computational finite element (FE) approach or the imprecise statistical energy analysis (SEA) method is used to create a satellite’s vibro-acoustic model. Three important technologies—division frequency, damping loss factor (DLF) model, and on-board equipment modeling—are suggested in this work for a combined vibro-acoustic simulation of a satellite. When f>f1, the division frequency (f1) is determined by whether the modes of the components are greater than 5. When all of the components are favoured by SEA when f>f1, hybrid FE/SEA technique is advised with just solar arrays by SEA method and the other components by FE method. Based on the examination of numerous experimental data, the DLF component model was proposed, in which the DLF is opposed to the area-to-mass ratio of components and frequency. It is established that the corresponding DLF of the panel may imitate the on-board equipment using the SEA theory. In comparison to the FE technique throughout the full band, the combined method not only cuts computation time by over 80% but also keeps prediction error to a maximum of 1 dB.
