Opportunities for Remote Collaboration in a Social Web Search Model That Integrates Parents and Children: A Recent Advancement

March 10, 2021 Mathematics and Computer Science 0

Search engines have traditionally been configured to support a single user operating alone. When search tasks are combined with teamwork, the construction of information is enriched. In a Social Web search model that incorporates parents and children and is led by the 5W + 1H (who, what, where, where, why, and how) dimensions, we found opportunities for remote collaboration. There are many strong information retrieval strategies for adults, but there is still a lack of scientific expertise into how to design search engines for children, both in terms of user interfaces and underlying algorithms. Our social search model aims to make the search process easier for kids. Based on implicit-explicit interactions, we discovered seven possibilities for remote collaboration on the search process. To test the prototype, we suggest adapting the method of evaluation used in Search Together.
