Papert’s Microworld and Geogebra: A Proposal for Enhancing Functional Teaching
This paper discusses how to improve mathematics teaching in Brazilian schools using Seymour Papert’s Constructionism and information technology tools. This work, in particular, introduces the constructionist microworld, a digital environment in which students can build their knowledge interactively, in this case using the dynamic mathematics software GeoGebra. Papert’s constructionism provides a flexible framework for implementing pedagogical models with computers.
