Study on Zooplankton Diversity of Cauvery River in Erode District, Tamil Nadu

September 10, 2021 Biological Science 0

The Cauvery River is the source of water for several places in Tamilnadu. As a result of poor textile effluent control, the Erode District is extremely polluted. The goal of this study was to determine the Cauvery River’s quality in Erode. Planktons are the principal food supply for aquatic ecosystems. Zooplankton diversity is one of the most important ecological factors for determining water quality. From July to November 2018, the goal of this study was to look at the diversity of Zooplankton in the Cauvery River in Erode, and the results were reported on a regular basis. Zooplankton diversity is a key indicator for the river ecology, and it is influenced by river water quality, according to the research. Rotifers are the most commonly observed and significant zooplankton species in the Cauvery River. Variations in biodiversity in a body of water can be linked to water quality. Zooplanktons are also good markers of biological water quality.
